WeatherShield
Traditional covers utilize a vinyl exterior (called the “skin” of the cover. To extend the life of the vinyl cover it is recommended to utilize a vinyl conditioner covering the entire skin every 6 months if it is in a shaded area and every 3 months if it is direct sunlight. Weathershield is an alternative to vinyl on Hot Tub and Swim Spa covers. It is polyester fabric that offers a few advantages.
- It is approximately 30% lighter in weight than vinyl so it will be easier to open and close the cover.
- There is no need to apply a conditioner on a regular basis, it can be cleaned with a garden hose, and if any built dirt should appear it can be cleaned with the use of soap and water.
- The polyester fabric comes with a urethane coating which helps prevent it from looking old and features a high UV protection that helps it last up to twice as long as vinyl.
- The polyester material minimizes shrinkage, and it is much easier to sew than vinyl making it more tear resistant as well.

Double Wrap
Waterlogged foam on the interior cover is the #1 reason for needing to replace a cover. The interior of the foam is protected by a plastic sealed wrap which helps to prevent it from getting waterlogged. Double wrapping the foam helps to further protect the foam but does not provide any additional warranties.
